The team led by Kang Guozheng from Southwest Jiaotong University has published an important review paper in the field of cyclic plasticity and fatigue failure of magnesium alloys.
Driven by the "dual carbon" goals, lightweight materials have become the core demand for reducing weight and increasing efficiency in engineering structures. Magnesium alloys, as the lightest metal structural materials, have shown great application potential in fields such as automobiles and aerospace. However, the complex cyclic plastic behavior and fatigue failure mechanism caused by its closely arranged hexagonal structure have become the key bottlenecks restricting its safe application. Recently, Professor Kang Guozheng's team from Southwest Jiaotong University published A paper titled "A review on cyclic plasticity, damage" in the internationally renowned Journal "Journal of Materials Science & Technology". The review paper "fatigue failure of magnesium alloys" systematically reviews the cutting-edge progress in the cycling plasticity, damage evolution and fatigue failure of magnesium alloys, promoting the transition of magnesium alloys from "usable" to "reliable".
